Clutch Release Bearings

Release bearings transfer pedal movement from the clutch fork to the diaphragm spring fingers. A worn bearing whines when the pedal is pressed, and a seized bearing damages the diaphragm fingers.

Designs include conventional bearings on a sleeve operated by a fork, self-centering bearings, and bearings integrated into concentric slave cylinders. Specify by OEM number, bore diameter, sleeve length, contact face diameter and fork engagement design. Truck release bearings may be pull-type. Release bearings are normally included in clutch kits but are also sold separately for workshops that reuse other clutch parts.
