King pins connect the steering knuckles to the front beam axle on most trucks and many older 4x4s and light commercial vehicles. They carry the vehicle's front axle load while allowing the wheels to steer. Worn king pins and bushings cause steering wander, shimmy, uneven tire wear and poor braking stability.
Kit contents vary by supplier, so each component must be confirmed.
Bronze bushings are often pressed into the knuckle and then reamed or honed to final size, which requires tooling and skill. Some kits supply pre-sized bushes that do not require reaming. Correct thrust bearing orientation, shim selection and greasing after installation are essential.
Irregular greasing, overloading, dust and water from unpaved roads, and worn thrust bearings. Fleets that grease king pins at every service see much longer life.
King pin kits are specific to the front axle model on trucks such as the Hino 500 and Isuzu NPR. The same chassis may use different axles depending on GVW. Related parts: tie rod ends.
King Pin Kits can be quoted on FOB, CFR, CIF, FCA or EXW terms and combined with other product groups in a single consolidated container. Send part numbers, quantities and destination port for a validated quotation.
Most kits cover one complete axle, both sides, but some are sold per side. Confirm the kit contents and quantity before ordering.
Many bronze bushings must be reamed or honed after pressing to achieve correct clearance. Some kits use pre-sized bushings that do not require reaming. Check the kit specification.
Follow the manufacturer's schedule, and more often in dusty or wet conditions. Regular greasing is the single most effective way to extend king pin life.
