Japanese Pickup & Truck Parts Export to Latin America

Supply of pickup, SUV and light truck parts, batteries and tires from Thailand to importers in Latin America, with consolidated container shipping on FOB, CFR or CIF terms.

Market characteristics

Latin America has a large and diverse vehicle parc, and one-ton pickups are central to agriculture, mining, construction and rural transport in many countries. The Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara (sold as the Frontier in several markets), Mitsubishi Triton (L200), Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max are all present in the region, alongside light trucks from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, American and European manufacturers.

Vehicle sourcing varies by country. Some pickups sold in the region are built locally or in neighboring countries rather than in Thailand, so model variants, engines and part numbers can differ from Thai-built versions of the same nameplate. Matching by OEM number or engine code is therefore more reliable than matching by model name alone.

Traffic side

Mainland Latin America drives on the right, so vehicles are left-hand drive. Guyana and Suriname are exceptions and drive on the left. Drive-side independent parts such as filters, brake pads, bearings, belts and most engine components are the easiest to supply across markets. Steering racks, lamps, mirrors, wiper linkages and dashboard-related parts must be ordered in left-hand-drive versions for most of the region.

Shipping and trade terms

Buyers typically import through major container ports such as Manzanillo in Mexico, Cartagena and Buenaventura in Colombia, Callao in Peru, Guayaquil in Ecuador, San Antonio and Valparaíso in Chile, and Santos in Brazil. We quote FOB, CFR, CIF, EXW or FCA, and can combine several product lines in one 20', 40' or 40' high-cube container via our mixed-container service.

Import licensing, labeling and technical requirements differ widely between countries in the region. Buyers should confirm current requirements with their customs broker, including any Spanish- or Portuguese-language labeling obligations, before placing an order.

Trade agreements

Thailand has a free trade agreement with Chile. Whether particular goods qualify for preferential treatment depends on origin rules and product classification, so buyers should confirm eligibility with their customs broker and request the relevant certificate of origin when asking for a quotation.

How to request a quote

Send your parts list, OEM numbers and target quantities through RFQ upload or the RFQ form. RFQs can be submitted in English.

Frequently asked questions

Will parts for a Thai-built Hilux fit a Hilux sold in South America?

Many service parts are shared across the same generation and engine, but regional versions can differ. Provide the VIN, engine code or OEM part number and we will confirm fitment before quoting.

Can you prepare documents in Spanish?

Standard export documents are issued in English. If your customs broker requires translated documents or local-language labels, specify this in the RFQ so it can be reviewed before quotation.
