About Center Links
Center links (relay rods) connect the pitman arm and idler arm and carry the inner tie rod ends on parallelogram steering systems. Drag links perform a similar role on beam-axle trucks and 4x4s, linking the pitman arm to the steering knuckle.
Wear occurs at integrated ball joints and at the tapered holes where tie rod ends attach. Specify by OEM number, overall length, number and taper of mounting holes, integrated joints and drive side. These parts are relatively long and should be packed so ends and threads cannot be damaged. Related linkage parts: idler arms and tie rod ends.
