About Stabilizer Links

Stabilizer links connect the anti-roll bar to the suspension arms or axle. They are inexpensive, frequently replaced and a common source of knocking noises on rough roads. Wear accelerates when ball-joint boots tear or rubber bushes harden with heat.

Designs include ball-joint links with threaded studs, bolt-through links with rubber bushings and washers, and eye-end links. Specifications are overall length, end types, stud thread size, and whether the link is left- or right-specific. Lifted pickups often need longer links to restore bar geometry. Links are commonly replaced with stabilizer bar bushings, which are listed under suspension bushings.
