Wiring Components

Wiring components cover the materials used to repair harnesses and install accessories: automotive primary wire, battery and starter cables, ring and spade terminals, heat-shrink tubing, split loom and conduit, cable ties, grommets and harness repair sections.

Specify wire by conductor cross-section (mm² or AWG), insulation temperature rating and conductor material. Battery cables should use pure copper conductors of adequate size; copper-clad aluminum cables overheat under starter loads. Accessory installations on 4x4 pickups, such as winches and auxiliary batteries, require heavy-gauge cable and proper fusing. See electrical connectors.
