About Motorcycle Filters

Motorcycle filters are frequent service items. Many small commuter engines use a centrifugal oil filter or strainer screen rather than a replaceable paper filter, while larger engines use cartridge or spin-on oil filters.

Air filters include paper elements, foam elements and viscous-coated elements; scooters may also have CVT housing filters. Fuel-injected models use in-tank filters in the pump module, and carbureted models may use in-line fuel filters. Specify by model code, filter type, dimensions and OEM number. Dusty roads significantly shorten air filter life. Filters are light and compact, well suited to mixed shipments with automotive filters.
