Because several pickups are built locally, South African buyers should not assume that a South African-built vehicle and a Thai-built vehicle of the same generation are identical in every part. Core mechanical and service parts are frequently shared, but emissions equipment, electrical components, trims and body details can vary. The reliable approach is to match by OEM number, VIN or engine code. Thai-sourced side-specific parts, such as steering components, lamps, mirrors and wiper linkages, are right-hand drive, which suits the South African parc.
