Auto Parts Export to the GCC States from Thailand
Supply of pickup, SUV, light and heavy truck parts, batteries and tires from Thailand to distributors and traders in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Commercial characteristics
The Gulf Cooperation Council states (the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain) are high-income, import-dependent markets with large vehicle fleets relative to population. Toyota pickups, SUVs and vans have a strong position across the region, and Japanese light and medium trucks from Isuzu, Hino and Fuso are widely used by logistics, construction, facilities and municipal operators.
The parts trade is layered: authorized dealer networks supply genuine parts, while independent wholesalers and traders supply aftermarket and OEM-equivalent parts to workshops and fleets. Dubai in particular has long functioned as a trading hub where parts are bought for re-export to other markets.
Climate-driven demand
Extreme summer heat and airborne dust drive higher replacement rates for:
- Batteries, which lose life faster at high temperatures.
- Cooling system parts such as radiators, fans, thermostats and water pumps.
- Filters, especially air and cabin filters.
- Tires, which are affected by high road-surface temperatures and long highway distances.
Drive side
All GCC states drive on the right, so vehicles are left-hand drive. Gulf-specification versions of pickups and SUVs may also differ from other markets in engine options and cooling capacity. Service parts are usually shared, but steering, lighting, mirror, wiper, dashboard-related and body parts must be ordered in left-hand-drive versions and checked against OEM numbers.

Bahrain, the sixth GCC member, is served mainly through Khalifa Bin Salman Port.
Fleet and trade buyers
GCC demand for aftermarket parts comes from two main buyer types. Fleet operators and their maintenance contractors buy recurring lists of service parts on planned schedules and value consistent part numbers from order to order. Traders and wholesalers buy wider assortments across many makes, often for onward sale in the region or re-export. Both benefit from matching parts by OEM number rather than description, because Gulf-specification versions of a model can differ from versions sold elsewhere.
Conformity
GCC states have national and Gulf-wide technical regulations for certain products, and Saudi Arabia requires registration of many imports through its SABER platform. Buyers should confirm current requirements with their clearing agent before shipment.

Frequently asked questions
Can parts be shipped to Dubai for re-export to other markets?
Yes. Many buyers use the UAE as a trading hub. Tell us the intended final market at RFQ stage, as drive side, specifications and certificate of origin requirements may depend on where the goods are ultimately sold.
Why do batteries need replacing more often in the Gulf?
High under-hood and ambient temperatures accelerate internal corrosion and electrolyte loss. Buyers often choose battery types and sizes suited to hot climates; state your preferred technology and terminal layout in the RFQ.
