Vehicle Parts for Mining and Construction
Heavy-duty service, suspension, braking and filtration parts, batteries and tires for pickups, SUVs and trucks operating on mine sites, quarries and construction projects.
Mining and construction sites are hard on vehicles. Light vehicles and trucks run on unsealed haul roads, in dust, mud and heat, often carrying equipment and personnel for long shifts. Wear rates are higher than in normal road use, and a vehicle out of service can hold up work on site. Remote locations add long supply lines to the problem.
This page focuses on the pickups, SUVs and light-to-medium trucks that support these operations. We do not supply parts for heavy earthmoving equipment.
Where parts wear fastest
- Filtration: dust loads shorten air filter life and put pressure on fuel and oil filtration. Heavy-duty or high-capacity filter options should be considered where available.
- Suspension: leaf springs, shock absorbers, bushings and U-bolts take the brunt of rough roads and loaded operation.
- Brakes: frequent stops, descents and heavy loads accelerate pad, shoe and disc wear.
- Steering and driveline: ball joints, tie rod ends, CV joints and wheel bearings.
- Cooling: radiators, hoses and fan belts in high ambient temperatures.
- Electrical: batteries face heat, vibration and high accessory loads such as lights, radios and winches.
- Tires: cuts and punctures from rock and debris; all-terrain or light truck construction is often specified.
Site vehicle fitouts
Mine-spec vehicles often require accessories and equipment such as bull bars, roll protection, lighting, flags and mounts, canopies and tray bodies. Requirements are usually set by site safety standards. Share the site specification so available products can be checked against it. See pickup and 4x4 accessories.
Specifying for heavy-duty use
When requesting parts, include:
- Exact vehicle model code, engine and drive type
- Operating conditions, such as dust, water crossings and loaded weight
- Whether heavy-duty variants are required, for example uprated springs or shock absorbers
- Any site-mandated brands or specifications
Heavy-duty variants may change ride height, load rating or compatibility with other components, so they should be validated against your vehicle and use. See RFQ process.
Planning for remote supply
For remote sites, running out of a fast-moving part is expensive. Practical approaches include:
- Ordering consumption for a longer period in consolidated shipments
- Holding kits per vehicle group for scheduled services
- Keeping critical spares such as springs, shock absorbers and batteries on hand at the mine or project site
